Bio

Ms. Ritu Shroff was appointed as Head of the Evaluation at UNHCR in June 2017. Since taking up her assignment, she has focused on developing a five year strategy, building a strengthened and professionalised evaluation team, and expanding the evaluation coverage and quality. The 2018 workplan represents the first milestone in the new strategy. 

Prior to joining UNHCR, Ms. Shroff worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in functions related to strategy, measurement and data, and evaluation for over five years. She has 25 years of experience throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States as a global leader and manager in relief and development, including 15 years resident in Africa and Asia. She has worked with large NGOs, donors and private philanthropy at strategic and operational levels in rapidly changing environments with a proven track record in results-based management, organizational effectiveness and strategic delivery of programs. Her career path reflects a strong commitment to social justice and basic human rights, especially for women and children. Ms. Shroff holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University.
