Evaluation of approaches to cash based programming in humanitarian settings: Dominica

https://www.unicef.org/evaluation/reports#/detail/17002

Overview

The main purpose of the evaluation is twofold: (i) to understand what emergency cash transfer programmes with UNICEF inputs work and under which circumstances, i.e. where, when, why, for who and how; and (ii) to identify how UNICEF can improve the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of its programming. This evidence will help UNICEF in the long-run to 1) improve the impact of cash transfers on vulnerable populations affected by emergencies, 2) bridge the humanitarian-development nexus by strengthening linkages between developmental social protection and humanitarian cash-based transfers, 3) strengthen UNICEF’s global position in social protection, including cash-based transfers, in emergencies, and 4) enhance the capacity within UNICEF to design, deliver and coordinate these programmes.
