Webinar: The Road Ahead ---> From MDGs to SDGs

Overview

The upcoming Fourth International Conference on National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) on Blending Evaluation Principles with Development Practices to Change People’s Lives will take place in Bangkok from 26-30 October 2015. It will focus on how Governments can develop the necessary national evaluation capacities to evaluate sustainable human development. Participants will deliberate on inputs to a post-2015 global Global Evaluation Agenda to support the implementation of the up-coming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, the UNDP’s Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) will organize a Webinar with Mr. Paul Ladd, who will present the new agenda for sustainable development and its indicators to be considered for evaluation. Mr. Ladd is currently Director of UNDP’s Team on the Post 2015 Development Agenda.

ABOUT NEC

The goal of the NEC Conferences is to support the development of national evaluation capacity, by focusing on supporting governments and partners with which UNDP works with around the world. In partnership with a host government, NEC Conferences are held in a new region every two years. The conferences are also a part of a broader architecture, in which the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG) plays a significant role by bringing together UN agencies and development partners to collaborate with each other and enhance the understanding and appreciation of evaluation as a powerful tool of public accountability and learning.
