National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) Conference 2022 - Resilient National Evaluation Systems

Overview

NEC Conferences

The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) organized the first National Evaluation Capacities (NEC) Conference over a decade ago, in 2009 in Casablanca, Morocco. The conference drew unprecedented country and government support, and has run as a biennial series ever since.

The last conference in the series was held in Hurghada, Egypt, in 2019, four years after the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It had more than 500 participants, an almost tenfold increase on the first audience a decade earlier.

To date, the NEC conferences have engaged over 150 countries and governments globally. They bring together influential players from oversight and accountability sectors to connect, engage and discuss topics ranging from good governance to evidence-based decision making and performance.
