The ECOSOC Operational Activities for Development segment (OAS) takes place from 27 February to 1 March 2018 in the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The segment looks at key elements of the response to the 2016 Resolution on the Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review, including the reports of the Secretary-General on repositioning of the UN development system in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the 2018 report of the Secretary-General on QCPR implementation.

UNEG, together with Joint Inspection Unit of the United Nations system (JIU) and the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), has been invited to speak from the floor at Session V, Renewed spaces for system-wide oversight, transparency and accountability. This session will include a discussion of measures to strengthen transparency and accountability, including through independent system-wide evaluation.

Indran Naidoo, UNEG Vice-Chair and Director of UNDP Independent Evaluation Office, will speak on behalf of UNEG during the session on 1 March 2018.

Please stay tuned to see the statement to be delivered by Mr. Naidoo on 1 March 2018.

The draft programme and background documents are available on the QCPR website.
