This report is a desk-based study of the UNEP/GEF marine plastics project (GEF project ID 9681) implemented from 2017 to 2020. The project's overall development goal was to capitalize on a growing baseline of knowledge on marine plastics sources, pathways, and environmental impacts to inform the GEF and the application of a systemic approach to global plastic issues.
