Overview
The purpose of the evaluation in the Maldives has been to determine outcomes
and impacts of UNICEF’s response to the tsunami, and draw lessons and
recommendations—both for the UNICEF and the sectors as a whole—that will be
useful for strengthening ongoing programmes or policies to improve the
wellbeing and rights of children. In addition, the evaluation draws lessons
for recovery/transition programming that will be useful in informing future
responses to disasters of this nature.
