As part of the 2022/2023 Evaluation Practice Exchange Seminar, the UNEG Methods Working Group invited members to a webinar entitled “Back to the basics: Tips to design evaluation case studies that will be used and remembered”.
In this webinar, Dr. Linda Morra Imas, co-founder of the International Program of Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) and co-author of the Case Study Evaluations guide, covered some of the methodological foundations on the use and design of case studies. The webinar helped define what a case study is; why and when to adopt case studies and case-based approaches in evaluation; and gave an opportunity for participants to discuss different case study typologies and their main features.
This webinar was the first of a two-part webinar series. Part II, Case Study: Examples of Use in the UN, was held on 7 March 2023
