This report outlines the main findings, conclusions and recommendations of the evaluation of the second project cycle of the Benefit-sharing Fund, International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA). It assesses the 19 concluded projects’ contribution to the fund’s objectives of improving food security and climate change adaptation through the sustainable use and conservation of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. The projects targeted vulnerable communities in countries across Africa, Asia, the Near East and Central and South America. The evaluation provides forward-looking recommendations to improve the sustainability of current and future projects implemented under the Benefit-sharing Fund. It also highlights the lessons learned and best practices that can be used for the overall enhancement of the BSF mechanism.
