This evaluation analysed project contributions to the food security of vulnerable families in Antioquia through capacity strengthening for the development of local supply plans and sustainable enterprises. It found that the project has supported the development of business ventures as indicated in the project design. The family farms supported by the project have contributed significantly to increasing the average intake of vegetables and fruits by families. The evaluation recommends that future projects should have a clear gender strategy and seek to consolidate the gains of the project while addressing the needs of the target population. To ensure that the target population is food secure, such projects should adopt a holistic approach that will enable increased production, utilisation and preservation as a set of integrated strategies.
