This evaluation assessed the agriculture and food information systems project from January 2013 to May 2015. It found that the project was essential to improving information systems for food security and nutrition in South Sudan and strengthening decision-making at the policy and programme levels. The project has improved validation mechanism to ensure consensus on all food security reports for policy. It has effectively coordinated information systems, taking the lead and contributing as a key partner in the systematic collection, analysis and dissemination of food security information. It recommends that FAO should strengthen the completion of primary data sets and ensure that analysis leads to prompt reporting and dissemination.
