The Humanitarian Evaluation Interest Group (HEIG) was launched at the UNEG Annual General meeting in March 2015 in recognition that the specificities of humanitarian evaluation merited further and focused attention by UNEG, especially in its normative work.
In its first year, two areas of work were prioritized - the first, the subject of this report, being on evaluation of Humanitarian Principles; and the second on the nexus between humanitarian action and development.
This report was discussed at the UNEG Evaluation Practice Exchange Seminar (EPE) in April 2016 and its purpose was to provide the HEIG with a better understanding on how the four core Humanitarian Principles are evaluated, highlighting best practices where available, as well as challenges and opportunities.
