The Peacebuilding Working Group and the Humanitarian Evaluation Working Group were merged at the UNEG Annual General Meeting 20205 to become the HDP Nexus Working Group.

The Humanitarian Evaluation Working Group (previously the Humanitarian Evaluation Interest Group) worked to advance humanitarian evaluation within the UN.

In 2024, it published the Guidance on the Integration of the Humanitarian Principles in Evaluations of Humanitarian Action to provide practical guidance and tools to evaluators and evaluation managers about how to integrate humanitarian principles (HPs) into standard evaluations of humanitarian action. The Group was  focused on piloting the Guidance with the intention of updating it in the coming years.

The group also published The Humanitarian-Development Nexus - What do evaluations have to say? Mapping and synthesis of evaluations (2018) and Reflecting Humanitarian Principles in Evaluation (2016).
