To trace the history of the PETI and the complementary expanded school day
program in the sisal region of Bahia. The specific objectives are
1. To verify the situation of the participant families in relation to a
baseline at the time of their initial incorporation into the PETI/MOC-UNICEF
program, identifying changes in economic and cultural aspects and their
comprehension of the role of the program in their lives, as well as its
repercussions on their surroundings.
2. To assess the development of adolescents who have been engaged for ca. 5
years in the program, along the intellectual, emotional and operational
dimensions, as well as their future expectations and their understanding of
their own situation.
3. To map changes in scholastic education, the economy and culture,
particularly in the municipalities (counties).
