Overview

The private sector plays a vital role in the transition to sustainable development by providing solutions and incremental financing to global environmental challenges. The evaluation of GEF's Engagement with the Private Sector concluded that while GEF should continue to engage the private sector using a variety of influencing models, operational constraints often prevent such engagement. Creating a level playing field is a critical role for the GEF to encourage more private sector investment.
