The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the impact of the care practices
training conducted on the communities in view of suggesting best strategies and
expanding geographical coverage. Specifically, the evaluation was to:
• Assess if and how action plans were implemented following trainings and based
on the lessons learnt identify best strategies for expansion on the Care
Practices Initiative;
• Evaluate the impact of the training on care practices from a caregiver aspect;
• Carry out cost analysis of the different strategies used to impart knowledge
and support on care practices;
• Review different strategies used by UNICEF, NGOs and CBOs/FBOs in the
districts and to determine whether the different audience groups used the
training differently and whether there were any substantial differences in the
impact of the training; and
• Document follow up supervision processes from the various implementers.
