The evaluation will:
Enhance UNICEF accountability to donors and expected beneficiaries related to the expected and unexpected results produced by the programme component - Assess the overall contribution of the programme to the national response to HIV and AIDS, especially amongst youth and adolescents - Contribute to improving the design of national strategies aimed at mitigating the spread of HIV and AIDS amongst youth and adolescents, through the sharing of lessons learned and good practices - Contribute to strengthening the of the national HIV and AIDS programme in the areas of management, coordination, involvement of youth, resource leveraging and joint advocacy strategies based on new evidence - Inform the development of community involvement strategies within the scope of future design of HIV transmission prevention programmes - Inform adjustments to the programme strategies and interventions aimed at addressing unsafe sexual behaviors amongst youth and adolescents (both boys and girls) - Inform the design of evidence-based approaches to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HIV and AIDS programmes.
