The purpose of the WASH evaluation is to gather evidence of the impact and outcome of the "improving living conditions in Yatta for children and families through sustainable access to safe drinking water" project and explore good practices and learning in ensuring the supply of quality of water sources in SoP. The Specific Objectives of the evaluation are:
a. Assess the project's performance using standard OECD evaluation criteria (relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact and sustainability) and humanitarian action criteria (connectedness, coherence, coverage) in assessing WASH projects and how cross-cutting issues
such as a human rights-based approach to programming (HRBAP), gender equality and equity has been addressed or recommendations of mainstreaming the cross-cutting issues mentioned.
b. Bridge the technical knowledge gaps in the WASH sector and contribute to UNICEF's ongoing learning to implement water, sanitation, and hygiene programs effectively and efficiently.
c. Explore good practices and learnings and provide critical recommendations for similar nature
projects in SOP.
