Project/Programme 2002
L'enfant centrafricain: Famille, santé, scolarite, travail (Analyse Causal de MICS 2000)
Agency
United Nations Children's Fund

Overview

The objective of this study is to identify the families and communities
determinant of the bad state of health, malnutrition, under-schooling, children
early labour and girl adolescent sexuality in order to guide the CAR
development actors in the definition of efficient intervention strategy in
order to introduce efficient, equitable and lasting changes in the life of
children and women in CAR. The established relations between the economic and
social-cultural factors of <key givers> with unfavorable status of children
should enable decision makers, planners, or development actors to conceive
appropriate models of targeted interventions with results in children?s life in
CAR. The study should therefore enable to answer the following specific
questions:
-What are the internal factors to households exposing more children to the risk
of being sick, malnourished, not immunized not enrolled in school, to work
instead of going to school?;
-Why some married women have less opportunity to practice contraception or
being informed on HIV/AIDS than others?
