The aim of this study was to establish appropriate developmental performance
benchmarks related to language development and literacy; social, emotional
development; motor development and physical health; logic and reasoning; and
approaches towards health for Jordanian children in four age groups: 0 to 18
months, 18 months to four years, 4 to 5 years and 6 to 9 years. The benchmarks
would help UNICEF and others monitor children's growth and development to
ensure that they are in line with early childhood development strategies and
targets.
