The purpose of this evaluation was to assess the support provided by UNICEF to
partner NGOs implementing the YPWC project action from June 2005 to June 2007.
This formative evaluation sought to determine what was working, what needed to
be improved, and how the Young People We Care (YPWC) project could be
improved. In finding answers to these questions the evaluation looked at the
outputs and outcomes achieved by the project.
The evaluation assessed the strengths, opportunities, challenges and gaps of
the project action in mitigating the impact of HIV on communities and OVC,
preventing the transmission of HIV in young people and fostering young people’s
development and meaningful participation, with a particular focus on the most
vulnerable young people. The result will be used to determine if the project
is making a difference and whether UNICEF should continue to support this
project.
