Overview
The evaluation provided an independent assessment of UNFPA interventions in the area of family planning during the 2008-2013 period, focusing on countries with low contraception use and high unmet need. The evaluation aimed to assess how the UNFPA Strategic Plan guided family planning interventions, captured good practices, and informed future planning. It covered all countries where UNFPA worked in family planning, including 69 priority countries identified in the London Summit and middle-income countries with high needs. The evaluation included family planning interventions funded by core and non-core resources, Global Programme to Enhance Reproductive Health Commodity Security (GPRHCS- 2013-2020), and integrated into other programs. The results of the evaluation informed the midterm review of the UNFPA 2014-2017 Strategic Plan.
